E-Tucano

Postby Kiwi Pete » Wed Jan 20, 2010 17:26 pm

Hi guys, I have an old 2nd hand E-Tucano here that I want to get in the air. It was originally made with a speed 400 motor and nicad packed batteries.
I wish to use a brushless set-up and lipo's to run it.

What would be the recommended set-up to go for, motor, speed control, batteries and prop?
Prefer to shop in NZ if possible.

Ne nice to have a wee electric for park flying.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

Hey hey,

I can tell you what our new Tucano is going to have in it, still should be good for the old one as well.

1x Our 2836-17 brushless motors (2450KV)
1x Our 2300mAh 2 cell LiPo's or a 1600 would also be good.
1x Our 25A ESC
1x Our 6.5 x 4 folding prop with aluminium spinner.

This setup works well, very well. Let me know if you want a quote for all or some of the above.

Yes, please quote me on the above electric set Shane. 2300mAh lipo please

Btw what is different re the new plane setup?
Any mods I should think about with the one I have? I will be stripping all covering off it and starting again, the fuse has a warp from the wing to the tail as it looks like it was only barrel wrapped.

They are quite different, hard to explain on here. But it actually looks like a Tucano now and we are being quite inivitive with some new design features.
Pop in and have a look for yourself if you like, I will send you a pic of the first prototype in the email with the quote for the electrics.

Hey guys

I have had to put the Tucano project aside mainly due the continued bombardment of cheaper imports. I have decided not to go there at the moment. Be assured that it has not gone for good, and will be released one day.

If anyone wants one I am happy to make them to order without build instructions, which should be no problem for you guys with some build experience. And as per usual I am always available for questions and advice on building etc.

We want to be Canterbury Sailplanes, and focus on what we are truly passionate about and experts at, sailplanes and gliders. We will continue to make our ever popular Tracer and supply all the necessary electrical components for that as well as the Jazz epod (coming back soon). But that will be it for the moment. I just need to remember that we are Canterbury Sailplanes and not Canterbury Electric Park Fliers...and not get distracted, LOL.

I'm sure you guys understand.

We have got lots of really cool stuff going on at the moment and have a number of things lined up for next season. Check out our new products, especially the new RCRCM Composite Gliders. www.flycs.com

I just wanted to say thank you for your continued support.
